The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), on Saturday, geared up its efforts to arrest more officials of Multan Development Authority (MDA) over the alleged corruption in metro bus project.
According to the details, six already-detained officers made important revelations against other MDA officials during the investigation.
Earlier, the NAB apprehended the chief engineer Nazir Chughtai, Manzoor Hussain, Munam Saeed, Rana Wasima and Rana Khalid and shifted them to an undisclosed place for further interrogation.
The accountability watchdog is investigating an alleged scam of Rs2 billion in the Multan Metro Bus project. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader from Multan Shah Mahmood Qureshi declared the bus service a failure, foreseeing that further instances of corruption would come to light during the investigation. He claimed that the metro bus project was developed even though parliamentarians from Multan had said that there was no need of such service.
