Disability has been given to me as a gift of God and ability is stronger than my disability, but disabled persons are overlooked in every field of life. Though the Sindh government has increased the requirement quota of special peoples 3 to 5 percent in all government departments, unfortunately the Sindh government has completely failed to fulfil its promises to facilitate special peoples, but sister provinces mainly Punjab has taken exemplary step forward and is providing all necessary facilities including jobs in government departments, health facilities, education facilities and it has granted special honorary allowance for special peoples so that they could maintain their daily basic expenses, but we are struggling even now and termed it sheer injustice with special peoples of Sindh.
This was said by Abdul Jabbar Mirani, the president visually challenged persons, in a joint program arranged by special people’s foundation Shikarpur chapter, a Shikarpur based organization working for the rights of disabled people, in which special Peoples belonging to Shikarpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Thul and other surrounding areas participated to mark black day on the eve of continuation of International celebrity of the persons with disabilities day, held at Qadir Bux Bedil Sindh Government Public Library, here on Saturday.
Mr Mirani further expressed his deepest sorrow and grief that special peoples are arranging black day for their due rights which [rights] should have been given to them at their door steps to facilitate them.
Aqeel Abbas Soomro, the Chairman Municipal Committee Shikarpur as well as chief guest of the program addressing the special peoples said that he has allotted a separate place or spot and Zebra crossing at Jahaz Chowk Shikarpur for special peoples to provide facility to them and ensured for his further support where needed.
Agha Munir Pathan, the chairman special people foundation, expressed his deep concerns and said that government is not ready to provide facilities to special peoples which are their fundamental right and demanded the high ups to play their important role to provide facilities to special people and issue directions to implement on 5 per cent quota in all government departments.
Aftab Ahmed Mirani, the president SPF, Wazir Ali Shah, Shahnawaz Kandhro, Sukkur, Ghous Bux Buriro, Thull, Ikhtiar Magsi, Larkana, Hazar Khan Lashari, and a good number of special people mainly a good number of special ladies also participated in a mammoth program.
Prior, a huge rally was also taken out by special peoples on Truck with heavy eqo sound system which marched various routes of Shikarpur and got attention of every people of Shikarpur.
Program was concluded followed by tableaus carried out by special ladies with message that special ladies are not burden, but who are gift of God.
